Crinkle - Reflective Sculpture Series

Sculpture series | 2020-2022
Materials: Hand-crushed aluminium (0.3mm)

What does your reflection reveal?

Crinkle plays with the visual tension between material and meaning. Created by hand-crushing sheets of aluminium, the work mimics the softness of fabric while retaining the strength and shine of metal. Each of the four circular forms was sculpted in increasing size, representing growth, the passage of time, and the cycle of life.

The high-shine surfaces invite viewers to see themselves reflected in distorted form, a quiet prompt to consider how consciously they are spending their time. Drawing on the symbolism of the circle as a shape of infinity and perfection, Crinkle becomes both a sculptural study and a mirror for introspection.

How do you shape your time, and what shapes you in return?
