How might a city support environmental sustainability and human wellbeing?
Melbourne Green proposes a future vision for Melbourne that transforms the CBD from a car dominated, grey environment into a vibrant, environmentally conscious and socially connected urban landscape. The project explores how cities can become carbon positive while improving everyday life through thoughtful design.

The proposal introduces car-free zones, expanded transport networks and renewable energy systems, alongside nature-integrated public spaces designed to support mental health and community connection. Interventions such as tree-lined streets, recharge zones and accessible mobility systems reimagine how people move through and experience the city.

Developed in response to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Melbourne Green considers the role of urban planning in shaping more equitable, connected and resilient futures.
