NAIDOC Exhibition - Immersive Exhibition Activation

Public exhibition, activation and immersive installation | 2024
Client: Mirvac - Riverside Quay, 477 Collins Street and 380 St Kilda Road. Delivered at Miei Group. Collaboration with The Torch.

How can art create space for reflection, recognition and connection to Country?
This NAIDOC Week installation brought together works by First Nations artists, curated by Jade and sourced in partnership with charity The Torch. It forms a series of immersive, room-scale environments within the lobbies of commercial buildings. Designed for transitory spaces, the installation invited visitors to pause, reflect and engage with stories often unseen in daily life.

Artworks were presented from floor to ceiling, surrounded by native botanicals, sand, sound and scent to create a multi-sensory experience grounded in place. Alongside the works, contextual information shared the histories of the local sites and the artists, fostering a deeper understanding of culture, Country and lived experience.

The activation transformed high-traffic spaces into moments of quiet reflection and cultural recognition. In response to its impact, the client extended the installation for several months beyond its initial duration.

Delivered as Creative Event Producer, Jade led the design, curation, planning and installation of the experience, creating an environment that honoured the artworks while inviting meaningful engagement from the public.
